Ski Day Bliss & Apres Eats at Nico's Pizzeria in Revelstoke

After a day carving down the legendary slopes of Revelstoke Mountain Resort, there's nothing quite like the warmth and comfort of a hearty meal and a good drink. On my recent ski trip, I stumbled upon Nico's Pizzeria, a local gem that perfectly captured the apres-ski vibe, and I'm excited to share my experience.

Located right in the heart of Revelstoke, Nico's is a casual and welcoming spot that's clearly a favorite with both locals and tourists. The aroma of fresh pasta and bubbling cheese hits you the moment you walk in, promising a delicious and satisfying meal.

Apres-Ski Delights: Pasta, Poutine, and Perfect Drinks

My group and I were ravenous after a full day on the mountain, and Nico's didn't disappoint. We started with a round of drinks, opting for some local craft beers to complement the cozy atmosphere. The menu is extensive, featuring a variety of pizzas, pastas, and poutines, but we were particularly drawn to the pasta and poutine options.

For my main course, I opted for the Veggie Penne with the rosé sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, and the combination of artichoke, spinach, roma tomato, and red onion was fresh and flavorful. The rosé sauce added a creamy richness that was just what I needed after a day in the cold.

Of course, no visit to a Canadian mountain town is complete without trying the poutine. Nico's offers a range of poutine options, and we decided to try the classic Fries, cheese curds & gravy. The fries were crispy, the cheese curds were squeaky, and the gravy was rich and savory – a true comfort food classic.

Gluten-Free Goodness: A Pleasant Surprise

As someone with gluten sensitivities, I was thrilled to see that Nico's offered gluten-free penne or spaghetti for their pasta dishes. This meant I could enjoy a delicious pasta meal without any worries. The fact that they also offered a vegan and gluten-free gravy option for their poutines was another fantastic discovery. It's so great to see restaurants catering to various dietary needs without sacrificing flavor.
