Destination FAQs

• If the trip is departing from Edmonton, and I live in Red Deer or Calgary, may I still come on the trip?

  Yes, Backside motor coaches typically stop to pick up joiners in Red Deer at Staples in Gasoline Alley, or at Pete's Drive In in Calgary.

• Do the rooms have kitchens?

  Off-Hill: The rooms are motel style with no kitchenette options

  On-Hill: Yes! Each room contains full kitchens. Access to public bbq's as well

• Are there hot tubs?

  Off-Hill: The hotel does have a public use hot tub... let's hope it will be operational!

  On-Hill: The Aspens and other on-hill condos have private hot tubs on each deck. The Glacier-Mountaineer options have access to hot tubs for lodge guests.

• How do we get to the hill each morning?

  Off-Hill: Included in the pricing is daily transportation to and from the hill

  On-Hill: Accommodation is on-hill so step out of your room to walk to the nearest lift

• Can I rent from the hill?

  Yes ! Ask your organizer for more details

• What is there to do in on-hill?

  Shopping, on-hill pubs and restaurants. Check out the Local Hero pub in the Highland Lodge.

• How far is to downtown Golden?

  Off-Hill: Depending on accommodation choice no more than a 15 minute walk or as short as 5 minutes

  On-Hill: You can take a 15 min taxi to town if you would like to go to the pubs however, there are grocery stores, liquor stores, etc.. on hill for patrons to access

• What is there to do in town?

  Check out local shops, pubs & restaurants

• Do we check out on our last day?

  Off-Hill: Yes, everyone must checkout before we leave for the hill in the morning so make sure your room is tidy and you have all of your gear! Note: Any damages to rooms will be dealt with prior to heading home.

  On-Hill: We will arrange for your gear to be packed and placed in a day room or on the bus. Note: Pack a change of clothes to quickly change into after a long day of riding!
