Pine Lodge at Whitefish

As the self proclaimed no. 1 organizer of the annual GAFH Tour (Gnome Away from Home), I confidently recommend the Pine Lodge in Whitefish for bus groups looking to stay in town. I was received by an organized and courteous front desk staff that had my lift tickets / room key packages on the ready, as well as immediate answers to all my questions. On top of it all, I appreciated the treatment from the accommodation towards my rambunctious, yet good natured group of 54 people all brimming with a ride hard, play hard weekend mentality. - JAMES "7pm" D (Backside Guide)

Great Northern Brewery

My first time to Whitefish we came off the hill starving from a day full of recoveries on a mountain full of fluffy stuff. On our way down, a local Patroller recommended the Great Northern Brewery. The tallest building in town it was easy to find (corner of Railway and Central). There, we had our apres ski pints (at a very reasonable price!) along with hearty sandwiches served hot or cold with the irreplaceable farm to market taste. Such a warm atmosphere with great friends and hospitality we found ourselves there until close with our ski boots still on...! - CYNTHIA K (Backside Guide)

Bier Stube

After packing up your snorkel from a long day of deep snow fishing, you will find the bier stube calling your name from the base camp of Whitefish Mountain Resort. Trust the germans to appropriately name your new apres ski home, translated "beer hall", the name seems a bit of an understatement for the vast array of local and foreign beers they stock on tap.Rest assured that by dinner time the live music, underpriced beer, tasty eats, and warm, friendly atmosphere will leave you nothing to complain about, except maybe the wooden benches that round off the full experience. Don't forget to show your canadian pride and drop the word 'eh' at the end of your order... HIGGI (Backside Guide)

I Flip for GNBC!

An integral part of my GAFH Tour 2009, was to vi for "Flippy Cup Championship Team of the Universe" and the Great Northern Brewing Company was a perfect venue. They were very receptive, if not just out of pure morbid curiosity, to host my crew for our annual Saturday evening, massive flip cup contest... and they did not disappoint! We had a private room with ample tables and great service. Staff, management and regulars were "entertained" by our presence and extremely easy to get along with... buying hundreds of dollars in pitchers probably helps though. Don't forget the currency conversion if running a tab... ee. - MIKE K (Backside Guide)

I Love Whitefish!

I love Whitefish Mountain Resort because it is a great all around mountain to ride. Whether it's 7ft of powder in 7 days, or no fresh for a week, the riding is awesome. With everything from beginner to experts only runs, there's something for everyone. If you want some challenging glades, head to Don's Descent or the Elephant Graveyard. If you're a bomber and like to cruise the corduroy, popping in and out of the trees, The Big Ravine is steep and fast and always groomed to perfection. On a "no friends powder day" the whole mountain is a wonderland. Every visitor to WMR has to check out Jesus off Chair 2. When you're hungry, head into Hellroaring Saloon. Order the tower of nachos for something to munch on, there's a special surprise buried in the middle... When I'm hungry for a real meal, the pulled pork sandwich is a true Whitefish classic, served up with a free-poured Long Island Iced Tea and I'm refueled to hit the hill. After a long day of riding, enjoy a beverage or two at the classic Après spot, the Bier Stube. On a blue bird day, check out the patio and let the locals know just how lucky they are. The town of Whitefish is always a great time. The food and drinks are cheap, and the bars still take Canadian coin! Be sure to stop into the Great Northern Brewery for a little micro-brewed beer to start off your night of celebration. The Bulldog Pub serves good pub food and the washrooms are something you just can't miss. Whitefish is my classic ski trip town, always great riding, welcoming locals, and a ton of character. - KRISTY R (Backside Guide)

Glades to Nachos

The ski day at whitefish needs to be followed by the overwhelming amount of nachos you receive at Hellroaring Saloon. For a small amount of cash, you can purchase a lot more food and alcohol than you need or deserve. On top of that, Whitefish offers some of the best glade runs I have ever seen or enjoyed. All and all, nachos and glades make for one great day Whitefish, Montana. - DAVE R (Backside Guide)

Hellroaring Pub

Springtime-Wintertime, lunchtime, patio time, long island ice tea... do it! - Kim B (Backside Guide)

Whitefish Amazing!

One of the most amazing trips I have had was to whitefish....... memories filled with dance parties, the Great Northern pub, stocking up on 'Twisted Tea' at the border, the hellroaring saloon nacho plate, which could feed a family of ten! And on the hill, well of course the best part... is swimming in waist deep powder! - Amanda T (Backside Guide)
