Whistler Not Just Hype

The hill so big you'll never see it all - at least not without living there for a few seasons. Whistler's obviously known for its massive and diverse terrain and bump'n village life. On-hill, you may be overwhelmed by the massive amounts of terrain that seem to never end and likely will end up sticking to an area that you think offers what you want - but i promise it gets better! Having my sister live there for a season, I learnt a few of the ins and outs and was able to try runs not overpopulated with gorbies and tourists. Though Whistler definitely has the most extensive parks Canada has to offer, the natural features you find hidden on hill are equally as fun! And of course, if you don't go to Whistler for the riding, you might go for the views - or like me - both! The most beautiful and breathtaking views of mountain peaks as far as your eyes can see from almost any of the lodges on-hill. As for night life, Whistler's got so many pubs, restaurants, bars, and lounges right in its village you could spend a week there and never get to all of them - trust me i tried! Whistler lives up to its hype and expectations - and is definitely worth a visit or extended stay. ASH R (Backside Guide)

Longhorn After a Great Day!

After a day of hitting wide open alpine bowls, steep and deep chutes, gorgeous tree runs, and smooth like butter cruisers a pint at the Longhorn saloon feels well deserved. As you ski into the village this Whistler icon meets you with its massive outdoor patio. Get there early enough on a fresh snow day and you can ski right up to the outdoor bar and have pint in your hand before even taking off you skis! This place is all about cutting loose! Trust me, the guys at the Longhorn know what fun in a ski town is all about; in fact, I think they wrote the book. - RAHUL (Backside Guide)
