Red Delivers

Red is a true hidden gem when it comes to BC interior skiing/riding. The snow is the best you'll find, it is light fluffy champagne powder and it is always deep! There is something really nice about riding a mountain with a lot of great history, friendly locals and such a happy, relaxed vibe (no crazy over-geared under-talented resort snobs here!) Red has some of the best glades I've ever ridden, they are very well maintained and there are so many hidden powder stashes (especially off the Paradise chair). For apres ski cocktails Rafters is the spot to go, it's got a great location at the base of the mountain above the day lodge and serves up good priced local brews. If I could only ride one mountain for the rest of my days, it would be Red! - TIFF Y (Backside Guide)

Red Paradise

There's nothing quite like riding up the mountainside on the Motherlode Chair and breaking through the clouds into a sunny, snowy paradise. Aptly named the "Paradise Area", this section of Red Mountain is a place you could ride all day long. Grab a smokie off the grill for lunch and sit on the patio enjoying being nestled between the tall snow-laden trees. Red Mountain has so many secret spots to ride or maybe even just enjoy the view! - HILARY C (Backside Guide)

Just Go!

After enjoying the either of the two amazing out of the way gems of Whitewater or Red Mountain, I always enjoy heading to Ainsworth hot springs, which is far better then your hotel hot tub and just a short way out of town. Ease your sore body deep into the caves to the source of hot water, and when you cant take the heat anymore head to one of my favorite pools; the cold pool and see how long you can take teh freeze. Then when your done relaxing head back into town where you can grab some pints at Finleys pub and make your plan of attack for the next day. Trevor G (Backside Guide)

Snow & The People

Going to Red Mountain Resort is all about the snow: primo, light deep powder. Residing in the region of the Kootenay's, it is here on the west side windward slope where snow really dumps. Trees become ghostly figures, and any terrain on both faces becomes fair play as rocks and logs are submersed in the holiness of seemingly endless snow. But all snow aside, Red Mountain Resort is also about catching a chair with a die-hard skiing local who tells you, with excited ferocity, "I was a screaming down that slope right there, and when it leveled out, a gust of wind hit me and it felt like I was flying!" - NAOMI W (Backside Guide)

Bring Your Snorkel...

Bring your snorkel and hit up the powder fields. Get ready for the lightest, deepest, blower pow around with some steep steeps and perfect trees.... the glades... oh the glades!!  - Kim B (Backside Guide)
